VICTORIA-Burglars enter five homes

A series of burglaries were reported in Victoria July 1 between the hours of midnight and 7 a.m., according to the Carver County Sheriff’s Office. There were five burglaries reported within the Deer Run area (1700-1900 block of Woodstone Drive and 8500 block of N. Fairway Point). These burglaries occurred while the homeowners and families were asleep in the residence, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

In one instance, two young children were having a sleepover and were asleep in the living room while the burglar(s) was/were in the home.

    Plenty of percussion

    Norwood Young America’s Music in the Park series continued to roll along last week as Tim Berry and Soul Drums performed at Legion Park. The performance was co-sponsored by District #108 Community Education. July is the last month for Music in the Park events, which are held at 6:30 p.m. every Thursday evening, rain or shine.     Second Greenway meeting planned

    Area residents, property owners, and interested persons are asked to help plan a Legacy Greenway that will connect several area lakes and other points of interest. The public is invited to an open house at the Pavilion on Monday, July 6 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

    The CHS class of 1954 returned to Central High School on Friday, June 26 as part of its 55th-year reunion.


    Bloodmobile coming on July 16

    The V.F. W. Auxiliary is sponsoring a bloodmobile on Thursday, July 16, from 1 to 7 p.m. at the Willkommen Memorial Park Pavilion in Norwood Young America.


    Harbor residents enjoy recital

    The Studio of Grace Piano/Vocal recital was held at Peace Harbor on Sunday, April 26, 2009, at 1:30 p.m. Students performed their pieces to an audience of parents, siblings, relatives and friends, with the residents of Peace Harbor and Peace Villa as guests.
