Ryan Demonico and Olivia Geurts were named the 2008 Homecoming King and Queen for Watertown-Mayer High School during a coronation ceremony held on Monday, Oct. 6. The event, which included the annual snake dance and a bonfire, helped kick off homecoming week (Oct. 6-10). The week also includes a number of special dress up days and special events. On Friday, Oct. 10, events include a parade starting at 4 p.m. by MarketPlace Foods in Watertown, a tailgate party sponsored by the band program from 5:30 to 7 p.m., a football game against Glencoe-Silver Lake at 7 p.m. and a dance beginning around 9 p.m. The homecoming events were organized by the student council, led by Alli Capaul and Lauren Salonek. For more on the week, see the district’s website. STAFF PHOTO BY TODD MOEN
