After students at Christ Community Lutheran School in Watertown recently raised $8,000 for their school by participating in a marathon bike/walk fundraising event at Baker Park in Maple Plain, teachers were required to fulfill several fun promises that were made as an incentive to help motivate the students to raise the money. One promise had four teachers — from left, Barb Laabs (chicken), Wendy Schilling (cow), Julie Steinborn (turkey) and Madeline Strei (bee) — dress as animals and sing “Old McDonald Had A Farm” on the corners of Lewis Avenue and Territorial Street in Watertown on the afternoon of Monday, Sept. 22. Other teachers had to shave their hair and perform skits for the students. STAFF PHOTO BY TODD MOEN
